Specific Research Projects

The student will contribute to the Selection and Assignment Research Unit’s work on developing, validating, and implementing selection & assignment measures and assessments. The selection & assignment measure and assessments may include cognitive, non-cognitive, and attitudinal predictor and criterion assessments in the areas of personality/temperament, interests, and cyber attitude.

Specific Tasks

The student may be asked a) conduct literature reviews, b) identify and prepare measures for data collection, c) collect data, d) conduct data entry, e) conduct data management and analysis (merging data files, descriptives, correlations, multiple regressions), f) assist with preparing briefing materials, and g) contribute to technical reports and/or conference papers based on the data analysis

Specific Skills Required

  • Knowledge of selection, performance assessment, assignment/classification, cognitive assessment, and non-cognitive assessment literature

  • Experience and skills in performing literature review

  • Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative data analysis

  • Working knowledge of SPSS

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

  • Good oral/written communication skills

  • Good teamwork skills

  • Attention to detail

The selected candidate for this Fellowship will be compensated based on academic standing ranging from $26-$30/hour. Prior knowledge of the Army is not a requirement for candidates interested in a Fellowship. Some travel will be required as part of the Fellowship. Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens, must complete a security background check, and must obtain and maintain a Federal Government Common Access Card.
