Consortium Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, U.S. Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences (ARI), Foundational Science Research Unit, Ft. Belvoir, VA.

This Consortium Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will work in ARI's Foundational Science Research Unit and will be aligned with the climate/culture research team, and will be focused on research to support the emerging area of unit culture. Specifically, the researcher will support all phases of research to include creation of data collection protocols, data collection and analysis, and report writing and publication. The researcher will be asked to support other research efforts within FSRU to provide them with broadening opportunities, in support of the broader goals of career development. Tasks will include the following:

  1. Creation of data collection protocols
  2. Data collection using a variety of techniques
  3. Data cleaning, transcription/encoding, and management using NVivo, SPSS/SAS, excel, or other tools
  4. Data coding and analysis
  5. Preparation of status reports as required
  6. Preparation of research reports, publications, and presentations for military and scientific audiences
  7. Assist with other research efforts as directed

The ideal candidate would have skills/knowledge/experience in:

  1. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods for social sciences
  2. Knowledge of scientific literature related to understanding organizational culture
  3. Basic knowledge of military terminology and concepts
  4. Strong writing and oral communication skills
