Name: Heather A. Hilgenkamp
School: Kansas State University
Program: Ph.D., Psychology (Cognitive)
Synopsis: I have been working on a Team Building Handbook that will be completed soon. This will be given to Army leaders in order to better build their teams so they are high performing and more cohesive. I am also working on the Multi-Source Assessment and Feedback Program that allows Army leaders to receive feedback from their superiors, subordinates, peers, etc. This 360º assessment and feedback allows leaders to better understand what areas of their leadership they might need to work on and areas where they are excelling.

Name: David E. Rast, III
School: Claremont Graduate University
Program: Ph.D., Psychology (Social; Statistics & Survey Methodology)
Synopsis: I am currently working on a Leadership and Social Influence Handbook. This handbook highlights the link between influence and effective leadership with a strong focus on the social and cognitive psychological processes that underlie influence. I am also working on validating measures of the Army’s core leader competencies. The purpose of these measures will eventually be to assess leader self-awareness, capacity, and evaluation to allow for a better understanding of leader strengths and weaknesses.
